“He was growling, soaked, and shaking—but I saw a good dog in there”: A good Samaritan rescues a frightened dog tied to a bumper in the snow—and ends up giving him the home his first owner never would

The dog rescues that we are used to covering here are usually of the kind where in the middle of nowhere a heartless hooman dumps a box of puppies. Which while being a terrible act, somewhat gives the puppers a chance to either live out in nature by themselves, or be found by someone before they get hit by one of the very rare cars to pass by. But today's story takes place in the heart of a city, and involves not a box of puppies, but one poor pupper tied to the bumper of a car.

Dodging traffic and trying to stay warm amongst the piles of melting snow all around it. A truly sad state of affairs which the original owner simply did not care about, and did not care to think that his pupper is microchipped and might quickly find itself being scanned, and the original owner contacted…. What comes next we will not spoil for you, but we will at least say that this pupper found their happy ending.

  • Jheez what a rough and random place to abandon a doggo. This doggo was more likely to get hit by a car trying to park than she was to be picked up by a passer-by. Showing just how lucky this doggo was that our kind and generous hero was walking past her at that exact time. Shame the lady from the window didn’t step in to help though…

    Next day I show up to his building. He doesn't answer. I speak with the tenants, they know the person (they're shocked.) When I get home | recieve an email response from him. "He doesn't want the dog yada yada"

  • Well, this person sure does sound like the caring and intelligent type. To ditch your microchipped dog in the middle of the frozen street and then respond in the most blasé way possible. Honestly, there are so many shelters and Facebook groups that could have helped avoid this situation entirely.

    Throughout this whole ordeal I'm reaching out to rescues. Some shelters are full but the community is still giving a helping hand with advice, reposts, donations, etc. Truly grateful for everyone's support

    vlvtjones OP Made the decision of adopting him just now with the help of ACC. Will set up a gofundme soon to help with medical bills. He did a 180 in terms of behavior. ACC did a great job with him, they truly care about those animals. Couldn't be more relieved.
